Flood risk, Drought and Water Storage

Landscape Managers and designers, landscape ecologists and applied geographers are all finding ways of dealing with flooding as the earth's weather systems become more unpredictable.

Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems are now seen as an important part of the design process; by minimising flood risk through their capacity to slow down surface water flows, peak water flows and to manage underground water flows in a sustainable way.

Sustainable urban drainage systems or SUDS are an eco friendly way of regulating and storing water on land. They can be used in all new developments and will cut costs of water provision through increased storage of water at a local level.
