Phase 1 & 2 Habitat SurveysA Phase 1 habitat survey is a nationally recognized method of recording semi-natural vegetation and other wildlife. It is relatively rapid when compared to a phase 2 habitat survey. Phase 2 surveys are detailed specialist surveys. They follow the National Vegetation Classification in the UK or include scales such as the Braun Blanquet or CORINE and involve sample vegetation plots (quadrats) taken and a written report.
