BREEAM Assessments & CSH (Code for Sustainable Homes.)

The global moves and our Government's directives towards sustainability have led to an increasing need for developers to record and assess the impact of their new developments - using a set of tools and current best practice. Landvision have over a decade's experience in carrying out Assessments for developments throughout the South East with our team of suitably qualified ecologists and landscape managers providing you with the professional service you need. We are members of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) - a requirement for a registered Ecological Consultancy.

The Code for Sustainable Homes is the main standard for all housing developments, building on a methodology developed by BREEAM. By ensuring that ecological aspects are considered from the start, using our service and consultancy can help to save you time and money.

In addition to being members of IEEM, we are also fully qualified members of The Landscape Institute, so that we can integrate your Landscape Design Plans with ecological solutions. More information on BREEAM

BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is the most widely used environmental assessment method for sustainable design and describes environmental performance.

BREEAM provides clients, developers and other professionals and interested parties with:

· Environmental impact designed so new building has low impact on environment.

· Best environmental practice is used in building & landscape design

· Innovative ecological solutions are designed to minimise the environmental impact

· Higher than regulations standards set so that design is inspiring

· Improved environments produced for clients

· Environmental objectives of companies are met by using this standard

Ecology and Land Use is one of the categories which can be assessed by the developer to accumulate credits which are optional. In order to obtain the maximum award for the lowest cost-inputs, if a “Very Good” or “Excellent” award is desired then issues regarding Ecology and Land Use should be taken into account in assessment and design. (A Guide to EcoHomes, Jenny Wain, Sustainable Homes 2003). In 2009, it became a requirement for developers to look at Ecology and Land Use as part of their Breeam assessments.

Using BREEAM enables the assessor to address environment & sustainable issues. It also helps developers to incorporate environmental design into their buildings, to satisfy clients and planning authorities. Sites where Breeam can be used;

BREEAM for Commercial sites;

BREEAM for Schools, industrial sites.

BREEAM for EcoHomes and environmentally friendly extensions.

When we undertake your BREEAM assessment, we will use a scoring system which is clear, with report based on our extensive experience and latest research findings. This approach has a very positive influence on the design, construction and management of the new development.

Breeam is a useful tool for planners, development agencies and developers to specify the sustainability performance of building and landscape design.

Property agents are able to promote sites with Breeam as having environmental credentials. This is a great benefit for purchasers and tenants. Landvision designs use Breeam to improve the landscape and the performance of site design and layout by enhancing landscape ecology and environmental sustainability. LandVision has a long standing relationship with the construction and building industry, working all over the South East for a range of clients, on all scales of commisssion, for future generations to enjoy.
